About Us

Early detection of many eye conditions including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, age related macular degeneration plays an important role in the prevention of vision impairment. Most of these eye conditions are silent and asymptomatic during early stages which can be vision threatening when it takes a turn for the worse.

In a study conducted by the Singapore Eye Research Institute, diabetic retinopathy has to date claimed the sight of more than 600 Singaporeans, the loss of an eye in 8,000, and visual impairment in a further 17,500. In working-age adults, diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of vision loss.
